The podcast is NOT done by a health authority, rather a computer security authority who happens to be a health enthusiast whose research led him to believe that this was important enough to go off-topic and devote an entire episode to it. He won bonus points with me by pointing out multiple times that correlation is not causation.

But he had enough good info that I decided to go out and try 2000-3000iu/day. The results have been astonishing. My energy has been much better and my moods much MUCH more even. I'm finding it easier to remember names! (Not my strong suit.) My period was even far nicer this month.
I'm still researching it - reading the Vitamin D Prescription now, & I plan to check up on the individual studies after, but I'm damned happy with the results after just a few weeks.
