I see charitible giving as just that - focusing on giving.
Charitible giving is often more about the giver than the recipient. The key here is why you are giving - if you are giving to share part of yourself then your focus is correct and according to LoA more giving will occur. If you are giving so you are seen in the social pages then your focus is on receiving.

Same action - completely different foci.
