If you want to learn a bit about Linux while you're learning about DOS, you can burn a Live CD of a Linux distro like Simply Mepis or Knoppix and boot your computer using it. You'll then have to mount the NTFS partitions manually to get access to them. This would allow you to copy your files to an external hard drive or flash drive. Then you could format your hard drive and reinstall Windows. That's the most reliable way to get rid of any Windows infestation.

In the future you should keep Windows in its own partition, so that if something like this ever happens again you can format the Windows partition and reinstall it without losing any data.
