Jim, you have what a lot of lightworkers have, fear of their abilities. My suggestion is to work on getting to a place without fear (raise your vibration in other words) and then open yourself up to exploring again, if you are comfortable with that.
When you are psychically inclined and you are afraid, you will tend to see and hear things that will frighten you. It's like, if being psychic was like tuning in to a radio, you're tuned in to the fear channel. Tune in to a higher frequency and you won't get the heebie jeebies.
