spacedout,
That’s almost exactly what I see. However, what you call "one infinite universe," I and others call the
"all that is." I also like the phrase:
"true reality." It's all just a matter of semantics as far as I can determine.
And as you can see, looking at the image below…
…the
“universe” in this thought experiment is not “infinite.”
To visualize that, realize that if one grain of sand was the equivalent of one billion light-years of distance, the entire size of this particular universe would be represented by about twenty grains of sand.
For a glimpse of
“infinity,” imagine starting from the outer edge of the universe and laying the sand grains (each a billion light-years of distance) one after the other heading non-stop in all directions away from the universe. Do that until you have depleted all the sand grains of the entire planet. And still, that is nothing to infinity. That’s the infinity I see when visualizing the openness that exists beyond our material universe.
You can also do the same thing regarding the
age of this universe. Just imagine that each grain of sand is the equivalent of one billion earth years. The age of the universe would then be represented by, again, around 20 grains of sand (I am rounding up).
I feel that the preceding is an extremely important visualization tool that allows us to see how this one universe compares to both –
infinity (a measure of distance) and to
eternity (a measure of time – past and future). Because it poses this universe in the metaphorical terms of being no more than 20 grains of sand big (by) 20 grains of sand old compared to
all the sand in reality.
Such a vision allows us to wrap our minds
around the universe rather than being overwhelmed by its size and age from the perspective of our bodies held within it.

To me it is truly an amazing sight to behold. I experience everything connected by something like, for lack of a better term, energy. 'Energy' seems to be the connective entity that allows everything in the universe to communicate.
|
Same here. And to me, the connective "energy" of which you speak is the energy of life and consciousness itself. All other forms of energy, more specifically, that which comprises physical matter (the holography of creation), is under the dominion and control of “consciousness energy.”
I picture consciousness energy as being the "living emulsion" in which reality is suspended and transpires. Remember (at least according to this concept), reality is nothing more than mental holography in varying degrees of order and resolution. And just as an apple image is suspended in the living emulsion of your personal consciousness, likewise, the earth is suspended in the living emulsion of God’s personal consciousness – with God’s consciousness representing just this
one universe…
…amidst an infinity of others.
(Remember, we cannot see or detect the other universes from our present perspective within this one; no more than we could see or detect other humans from our prior perspective within our mother's womb.) Quote:

When I am in this sense of pure awareness I experience the universe as a living organism pulsating with this connective energy. Maybe this is not too different from what you experience.
|
Indeed, it is not different from what I experience. I believe we are both experiencing what is known as “cosmic consciousness.”
The
"all that is" is absolutely, as you say, "a living organism." But I see this living organism as being partitioned into an unthinkable number of individual minds, all connected as
one entity through the
sameness of the life energy from which we are all formed. The
"all that is" is a unified “mindfield” as you stated above, beyond which nothing exists other than the infinite openness into which the mindfield expands.
So ultimately (again, using your word) the
“mindfield” itself is the only thing that exists.
Furthermore, there are two (and only two) primary forms of being comprising the mindfield. You are either a spirit consciousness (an incorporeal mind) who is fully awakened and capable of creating reality within yourself like the Creator of our universe has done as witnessed in the bubble below…
…Or, you are a corporeal consciousness
held within the reality that a spirit consciousness has created. There are no “in-between” or “alternative states of being” besides those two, other than sheer non-existence.
That means that in
“true reality” there are no devils, no demons, no angels, etc., and no lower
unincarnate entities below that of the human level of consciousness. Those are all “fantasy entities” derived from the "old paradigm" religions, and it is time to let them go.
The human level of consciousness (or above) is the prerequisite "threshold" that must be crossed before consciousness can maintain its integrity and awaken into incorporeality. And what that ultimately means is that, again, in
“true reality” there are no incorporeal dog minds, cat minds, monkey minds, fish minds, pig minds, amoeba minds, bug minds, plant minds, frog minds, bird minds, etc., etc., etc..
Spacedout, I guess the point I am leading to is that we must
not stop at just the "pure awareness" of the infinite
"mindfield." We must, through the power of imagination and
"logic," begin to envision the purpose of it all.
And to me the simple realization that humans are individual minds with the unique capability of “intentionally” creating objects of reality within our own personal consciousness – objects whose essence seems to resemble the essence forming the objects of the universe in which we were born – is a
major clue (among others) pointing to our ultimate purpose.
And if we can envision the potentiality of our own minds as being something that can “possibly” develop into a replication of what the image below represents...
...it is not a difficult leap to imagine that this process has been going on as far back as eternity itself, with us and our Creator merely being the most recent "generations" of a
like-begetting-like “species” of Being, operating at the "highest level" that life itself can achieve.
All of which would imply the exponentially growing existence of so many of our incorporeal siblings (living universes) that they are represented by a number that cannot be understood. Again, spacedout, as you stated, all comprising
one interconnected and living organism, beyond which absolutely nothing else exists.
(Dang, I can't make a short post to save my life.
