I'm torn on the social networking thing.

Let's take facebook/myspace for an example.

On the one hand, I limit myself to adding people that I would actually like to reconnect/connect with. As such, my friends list is fairly low (think I have about 50 friends on each). I see people with 300-500 friends and I think "hmmm, are they really connecting with these people or do they just 'collect' friends to make themselves feel better about themselves?"

On the other hand, I think having more people on your friends list is beneficial in the ways that Steve talks about in his article, especially when it comes to business connections.

I imagine that being torn on this issue means there's something there that I haven't resolved, but haven't quite figured out what that is.
