I just want to give my props to Vitamin D.
I was dealing with serious dizzy spells, nausea and anxiety issues off and on for the longest time. The doctors performed their various tests and could not find anything wrong with me. I was eating well and exercising regularly and was frustrated beyond belief as to why I was still feeling so crummy. I refused the recommended "happy pills" and got a new doctor. She performed a Vitamin D test on a whim and found that my level was at a 5. Recommended levels are supposed to be above 50 optimally 70-100. Obviously I wasn't getting enough sun and wasn't getting what I needed in my diet. I now take Vitamin D supplements and feel fantastic.
From what I read vitamin D deficiency doesn't manifest into physical issues until it's too late or if you're at extremely low levels. This test isn't part of a normal blood draw so you need to specifically ask for it each time you get your physical. Do it.
