By get ahead, I meant have a crack at the better jobs. If you dont have the bare minimum these days for being taken seriously as a job applicant (i.e., a college degree), you disqualify yourself immediately.
The degree is just the first step in getting your foot through the door for an interview. Once you are in you will obviously need to have far more to sell yourself on than just the sheep's skin.
