We hardly ever think to what extent we are effecting the world we live in. What is the cost of eating meat? What is the cost of driving gasoline operated vehicles? What is the cost of using plastics? I am not talking about monetary cost here. Everything we do starts a chain reaction and most of the time people are unaware of what that reaction is and how it might come back to bite them. OR the effects are long term and noone cares until it starts to become a "visible" problem.
The bottomline is, just think hard about what your actions are doing to the world, and correct whatever you can.
All this personal development material (and supposedly religion as well) tells you, you need to be proactive. There is no "god up there" that will come down or send his angels to save our butts, in this world or another ones.
