Maybe my limiting factor is my impatience. I am always striving to change to a more satisfying and rewarding job but get frustrated when nothing happens. However, looking back over the last few months things have started to happen, just not as quickly or as decisively as I would like them to. I have just finished a 3 month secondment at work which saw me taken off my regular truck driving job and placed on a computer to operate the depot's yard control system. Apparently I have impressed my bosses!! Although the trial is now over and I am back on my old job when I return to work on Wed night.
The point is, for a long time I have been trying to manifest a job change from truck driving to working from home either as a writer or as a pc tech guy. I am getting occasional requests to fix pc probs but have not charged anyone yet!! Maybe the universe is just moving a bit slower than i would like it to!!
Should I be more specific in what I am trying to manifest? Maybe more realistic, i.e instead of a whole lifestyle change, maybe aim for that secondment at work to become a permanent role? Then when that happens move on to the next step which is to work from home?
What are your opinions on this? Or should I bite the bullet and aim for the stars? |
Yeah you need to be a lot more specific. At the moment you are way to vague and you are not commiting to anything.
Remember you still have to take ownership, you can't just sit back and let the universe take care of it.
Really decide what it is you want and go after it.
To really discover what you want what I suggest you do is find a time when you are relaxed like on the weekend or a day off or something when you have no distractions and no time limits.
Find a place where you will not be disturbed and just chill out for like 5 mins, just focus on your breath and clear your mind. Really just calm your mind and your body.
Once you are in a relaxed state ask yourself what do you really want. Then just let the answers flow to you.
It's important to not judge or resist anything, it doesn't matter if it sounds unrealistic or isn't something you believe. Just observe it.
Then get out a pen and paper and ask yourself again.
But also question everything. Do I really want that job? Do I really want to work from home? Why do I want xyz? Why don't I want xyz?
Ask yourself what would you want to do if there was no limits, if there was no rules and all you had to do was say what you wanted and it would happen.
Would you be driving a truck?
Would you be fixing computers?
Would you work for someone else or for yourself?
Where would you live?
Would you move, would you stay?
Really question everything that is going on in your current life, a bit like a self evaluation.
Then put the answers down on paper.
Once you have your answers you need to decide which one is the most important. In other words what do you want to manifest first.
Once you decide that do the following steps.
Step 1. Clearly Define What You Want & Write It On A Bit Of Paper
This is going to become your new focus, so write in on paper and in big bold letters. This will keep you motivated when you are struggling and will keep you focused on what it is you want.
Read out your statement once every morning and once every night.
Step 2. Feel As If You Have Already Achieved It
This is what auheart was talking about. Start thinking, feeling and acting as if you already have achieved your goal. What ever it may be. Visualization, meditation and affirmations are great for this.
Also be thankful for achieving the goal BEFORE you have actually achieved it.
Step 3. Take Action
This is vital. You need to do this or else nothing will happen. Once you have defined your goal you need to move towards it.
This is the part where most people drop off because they just do step 2 and think the universe is going to do the rest.
You need to make it happen. So take action and do it now!
For example if you decide you want to create your own computer repair business the first thing you need to do is research it. Find out what is involved, research your market. Research your competitors. Then research what the next step is. Is it going to be an online or offline business?
Once you take action the ball starts rolling and you start to get things done. The next step will present itself you just need to start the process.
So anyway I hope that helps you out a bit, let me know how you go
Cheers,
Tristan
