They want HIS VERSION of health care to fail because it will be DISASTROUS for the economy and for the nation. That is why they are in solidarity against it... it goes against every principle that conservatives stand for, and they know if they go back home come election time they will be thrown out of office by the people they represent, who are NOT socialists. Did you watch the elections last night? Do you see what's going on? Politicians are expected to do what is in the best interest of their constituents. People do not wan this to happen. Republicans, democrats and independents... they don't want this type of sweeping government takeover of healthcare to happen.
You don't honestly think that an entire political party wants health-care reform to not happen. That's not what that quote says.
Republicans have proposed their own versions of health care. Guess what? They have been flat-out ignored. Which is what happens when you're out of power... no one has to do what you say, so they usually don't.
I'm a republican, I don't want "health care" to fail. But this version of it? Absolutely. And I don't want it to be IMPLEMENTED and then fail... I want it to never be signed by the President. That way it won't RUIN the country.
Believe it or not the republicans are actually trying to do something about this problem too.
