I talked to the VIP and we clarified things.
It was hard for him to say what it was said.
I learned to work via electronic means just like people in US, but he feels that's not the way to work here because we need to engage people, face to face.
So in this particular situation the dynamics we had in place would not meet the objective.
I decided also that staying aside from the role is the best, because I do not need to be in the board to be a leader, and ultimately I am more concerned about making it to work than to show off about a top position anywhere.
