Thanks Vartann. A few follow up questions:

1. Do you happen to know the specific Steve article or articles that cover this?

2. The part about higher consciousness makes sense. However I'm quite sure how facing fears head on works. My fears right now all stem from a fear of doing something that's in conflict with my value system. This comes out of a kind of negative spiral belief around the Law of Attraction. I feel that if I have this negative anchor and it produces thoughts of doing something I don't want to do then the more I think about it the more likely it is happen. The more I try not to think about it the harder it is not to think about it.

3. Ultimately I think this might simply be a form of obsessive compulsive disorder (around thought rather than around action) brought on by high levels of anxiety. It's something that I haven't seen talked about too much here so I'm curious if there are any good places to read up more on this.
