I'm just wondering...themaster, do you go around constantly analyzing everyone who speaks to you and dissecting every little thing they say in LOA terms of "limitation" "judgement", or "lack", and any other buzzword that's going around these days in these circles? That can get pretty annoying after a while.
I ask because I'm remembering when I read the celestine prophecy many years ago and got right into the exercises and recognizing the dramas that people play out in their lives, and what I realized was that I was NOT seeing other, very significant aspects of them as whole people, because I was so caught up in thinking of them in terms of being "poor me's" or "intimidators". That's kinda how you strike me, as this person who is so into LOA that you don't really read other stuff the way it is meant, you only seem to read my comments in terms of YOUR own interpretation based on your LOA belief system.
My statement about watching horror flicks was not a limitation!
If I had said to the OP "You shouldn't watch horror flicks or you will not progress spiritually" then THAT would have been a limited suggestion based on fear.
The way I DID word my statement was to point out (if you had read the previous paragraph) that watching disturbing images too much can actually have an effect on your mind regardless of whether you know consciously that it's "only a movie".
Graphic images DO have a disturbing influence on the mind, which doesn't differentiate between what is fantasy and what is real, so, it can affect a person if they are developing their sensitivity for spritual experimentation or pursuits!
Now, I didn't actually say Don't watch horror flicks, did I?
I said it is probably better for the OP's sensitivity, if they are interested in developing it, to avoid it...but that's not to say that they HAVE to not watch it. That's just my finding in my own spiritual pursuits...of course, the OP does not have to take what I say onboard. Perhaps you are not as sensitive as other people here, or have not yet come to realise the disturbing effect that violent images can have on the mind?
I used to personally LOVE gore flicks...like, REALLY love them. Horror flicks were a total favourite of mine also, until I was about 18 and I started to really understand the effect it was having on my mind and how I felt AFTER I'd watched a horror flick, which led me to decide to give them up for good. I'm not saying this person should do what I did, but I am offering my input TO HER, not you, so that she can come to her own conclusions.
