The aerobic exercise thing doesn't surprise me - large amounts of sugar/carbs (which is what juice is) ahead of exercise improve physical performance. It's a well known effect that lots of endurance athletes take advantage of.
The weight training comments surprise me a bit. Steve, if you wouldn't mind answering two questions, I'd be curious about:
1) Some general indication of where you're at strength training wise - maybe something like what weight you think you could do 10 bench presses at.
2) Some idea of how much protein is in your general diet, and whether you supplement protein while weight training and if so how much and with what.
