When a stressful situation occurs, I am able to maintain my presence of mind while it is happening.
However, what used to be my problem was reflecting on it later , I would dwell on something for days, thinking what else could have gone wrong/could have been done, trying to find a meaning or a hidden message in it.
Sometimes events like this help us re-evaluate our priorities but it's also easy to get caught up in a vicious circle if you keep coming back to it.
What helps: focusing on breathing, exercising, music, being with friends etc.
