Some people treat me unusually nicer, some just like to smile at me for no reason, I really don't know why. Is it because I look like a little kid? Maybe I'm baby-faced and I don't know it? But, it's weird, people like talk to me, like make jokes about this and that, but I on the other hand, is not social, and very shy..and I smile everytime I talk to someone, well most times. I don't get it, why am I treated like a little kid?
I don't know what advise I can give you, but I can relate to everything you've said. I'm baby faced, and I'm shy.

When I was 17 I got told during class by my high school teacher "you're cute Brendan" and when I had long & curly hair and I was 26, I got asked at a party by some girl "are you 6?" and she was going on about how young I looked and started playing with my hair. (Mind you, we were all really drunk at that party) So often girls will act motherly towards me, but sometimes even guys will treat me that way, which can be weird..

So anyway, people are going to base you on your appearance, like if you change hair colour, change skin colour or change gender, people can't really help treating you differently.

All you can do is treat yourself how you want to be treated. Does it bother you that you're being patronised and treated like you're immature? just treat yourself like a mature adult, and if they treat you like a little kid, don't reciprocate to it in a positive way, you don't have to be rude, but just don't smile back,. if they make you feel awkward. I had to do this once to some girl who was telling people how I'd always catch her spilling food and drink on herself, was starting to get embarrassing, so I just stopped smiling along with it... Sometimes I'm guilty of behaving childishly, but I like to have fun.

Plus, it just means you seem non-threatening and kind. It would really suck if everybody thought you're a mean, and bad person, for no reason?
