Hi all! I'm new here so hope to get to know you all a bit with time!

Lucid dreams are AMAZING! You can do anything you want in them. And you can use them for all sorts of things, like trying to get new ideas, solve problems, etc.

Carlos Castaneda describes lucid dreaming in some of his books so you might like to read those. That's where I learned it, yep you can actually learn it from a book!

I guess there must be tons of ways to learn, for me what worked was first just to do lots of dream work (remembering your dreams every day, writing them down, etc.). Then Carlos Casteneda was told that when he was dreaming, as soon as he was aware that he was dreaming, he should look down at his hands. If possible he could try pulling on his fingers too, if they streeeeetched that was like the sign to him that he was in a dream and could therefore do all the things he had set out to do in a dream.

Oh yeah before you go to sleep remind yourself to have a lucid dream that night. When you are dreaming and you become aware that you are dreaming, look at your hands, when you do that that reminds you that you are in a lucid dream and that you can take it from there.

And just keep trying it night after night until it works. It really works. Then you can use your lucid dream to do anything you want. I don't do it anymore because with 2 small kids (who share my bed!) I can never even sleep the whole night through. If I get 3 hours of undisturbed sleep that is a big record now! And I can't do dream journaling anymore because the kids always wake me up and chase the dreams away.

So have fun and enjoy this before the wife (or hubby!) and babies come along!
