By not making decisions you
are making decisions nonetheless...decision to stay where you are
If it is a year abroad you want then keep looking for that kind of internship, don't get discouraged
But make sure that this is really what you want now, and not just a way of convincing yourself that you're doing something to change but when you get a chance you find some excuse to back out of it.

You can never have a 100 % guarantee that something is the best choice, you just accept to deal with whatever consequences follow, good or bad, it's always a learning opportunity.
