To me, this sounds a little like 'sucking up'. I know that's not what you mean but, to me, it is still as if you need to
take some value by listening to her talking about herself all the time.
So, to counter this, you really need to be genuinely interested. I am still at a point where I am kinda shy when it comes to meeting/talking to strangers and I still have to remove some of those mental blocks you've talked about.
