Default muscle aches and malaise?

this is the second full day i've had sore legs and a sore back with no logical cause i can think of (i do have some back issues but this is muscular, not the type of structural feeling that is usually there), and a general icky feeling (physically). no fever, no chills, no runny nose or throat issues. no cough. wednesday night i had a sinus headache and late friday night these two symptoms started.

i am wondering if this could be the way this year's 'regular' flu manifests or whether it's like an atypical cold. also the symptoms come in waves, feeling good or better, then an upsurge in the sore icky stuff. that's just a bit weird to me.

i know a medical professional would be the best source for info, i won't sue you for any ideas you share here. but i remember someone was talking about the flu here recently and i guess i am wondering if that's what this is. if it is the flu, i must have a really strong immune system to only have these two symptoms.

ideas? i tried looking online and kept getting results about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (no chance of that). but i did find a few sources that said muscle aches can sometimes be from a cold.
