My world was filled with the Oz books and Star Trek and Gamera, vanilla ice cream with random food coloring added to it, snow days spent running around, school days spent running around, swimming in the neighborhood pool all summer long, cartoons on Saturday morning and reruns after school with my face 5 inches from the screen, riding my Big Wheel singing the Speed Racer song, field trips to the local science museum, cats and guinea pigs.
Time moved glacially, I reflexively cut life into random dichotomies (I liked hot dogs, therefore [?!] I hated hamburgers even if they tasted good), The sky was big and silent and filled with sunlight, and one day I became conscious of the fact that I had no idea how big clouds were.
It's weird thinking that all of that is still inside of me...
