Silenced,
Lucid dreams are about as different from regular dreams as they are from real life. Regular dreams are ruled by the subconscious mind, which dampens your senses and makes illogical things seem normal. In contrast, lucid dreams are ruled by both the conscious and subconscious mind. This transforms your dream world into a living alternate reality - where everything you see, hear, feel, taste and even smell can be as authentic as real life.
It also gives you an incredible sense of self awareness; of being present in the dream, right here, right now. You can move and control other elements as you wish - where not even the sky is the limit! Because of this unreal nature of lucid dreams, its not comparable to real life. It's not even comparable to day dreaming - not by a long shot - yet some people often get these concepts mixed up. Lucid dreaming is a unique state, one that you really need to experience to understand. I strongly believe that anyone can experience it, since we all dream every night. Try it and see!
By the way, I've also published my first lucid dream, plus one of my favorite lucid dreams on this page about how I became a lucid dreamer. This might give you a better feel for it:

Good luck!
