I thought Anagogy's reply was excellent in terms of talking about fear. I have been learning that fear causes most of the things which limit us from achieving our potential. I would definitely recommend this book all about fear to you: 'Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway' by Susan Jeffers.
Also, if you have watched 'The Secret' you will remember that when you have a negative thought there is a time delay where you can replace it, and that a positive thought is much more poweful than a negative thought. If you haven't watched it, I would 100% recommend this to you as well. I have experience of religion when I was younger and many of the people in this film are religious people who believe in IM. In fact the two things seem to go hand in hand for many people.
The other thing from the film which I find useful to think about is that 'green shoots' are about to burst through the ground for you. If you now start to doubt and think 'This is a waste of time' or 'This is wrong, I'm going to stop doing it' then the shoots will obey you and go back under the ground because what you focus on becomes reality. It's possible that what is happening to you now is the result of your old thoughts and it would be a shame if your recent hard work went unrewarded because you are getting discouraged.
I know it's hard though but stay strong and keep focussing on what you really want and feeling it as if you already have it. I really hope things start to improve for you very soon
