Are you practising chakra work, while you are expanding your psychic eyes??
when you are opening your third eye, you are also expanding your crown chakra and brow chakra. If and when you learn to effectively put these chakras back where they belong after such an experience..the pain will not exist for you during these times...at least not as often or as intense.
I think that what you are explaining is the "pressure" feeling that comes from a blockage or overextended chakra. I used to experience this myself. Chakra work really seemed to help.
