This happens to me periodically, but it has become more and more rare over the years, it now occurs every six months or so. However, I believe I started this when I was a teen and I was fascinated with OBEs and wanted to have them. I used to practice - lay in bed, relax every muscle, and try to stay conscious, repeating all the time in my mind that I will be able to travel out of the body and stay awake while during that. Well, tried for months, and nothing happened, so I quit. Few months later, I started having these sleep experiences - I wake up, totally awake, cannot move, I see in the room with my eyes closed! I know it was not imagining, because when I did wake up for real, I saw the same things that I saw with my eyes closed - my husband sleeping on one side, the light falling a certain way. So I am unable to move, totally awake, eyes closed but I can see, and I feel a powerful force like a vacuum trying to suck me out of my body. My whole body vibrates with strong electricity, but it feels too painful to actually "leave" my body. Other times I feel like I am sitting up or moving an arm, but I am not, my body still lies there in bed. Other times I feel a clear kick - someone or something kicks my leg! Other times I hear voices and noises. And one time I felt inundated by this feeling of love of God that you could not possibly experience in real life, it was beyond my daily human life limit of feeling love.
I am so glad to hear in this forum that I am not the only one! Has anyone actually had those strong vibrations and feeling that they are sucked out of their body, and actually managed to float away? I would love to know what happens next - it feels scary to let go and actually float, what if you never return?
