One of my beliefs is that we already know. In this case, you know on a intuitive level if this teacher is for you or not. Your mind is making you asking these questions. Maybe out of fear (of change?), or doubt, or for other reasons. No one here can tell you what your feelings mean.
Listen to your intuition on this one. It will tell you.
On a side note: more than 1 person has told you they experience you as hiding. What (if anything) does that mean to you and do you want to change that?
