Default Is it possible to intuitively know lots about a person when you first meet them?

OK, was just thinking about this recently.

I think people unconsciously make assessments about others upon meeting them. Our mind makes assumptions about who they are based on first impressions. and it's not conscious..

I've just been thinking though, usually the craziest people I've had to deal with, and I mean crazy in the sense that they are not very well rounded, and are manipulative, and nasty.

Anyway, basically the signs that they were slightly crazy were there from day 1, and as I got to know them more, they just became more and more of a problem.

By the way, I'm not being highly judgmental of certain people. But like one person I can think of an example for was this woman I had in a house-share I was living in in London, she seemed like a psychopath, and was having really aggressive arguments with other flatmates, and stuff.. Somehow I got in her good books, and she never feuded with me. I don't know how, maybe I was just strong and not a pushover to her, or maybe it was that she was racist, because she seemed to feud mostly with the Asian people. I think early on though, I sensed that she was a little bit weird. I was nice to her as well, but in the end just had to ignore her for my own safety.

I think maybe first impressions and intuitions are fairly accurate with me..

I've found it's rare to find people who seem really awesome, have a good vibe, and then you get to know them more, and you're majorly deceived, they actually really suck..

At the same time, I know I'm not perfect myself, I'm a well meaning person, and I think most people who know me, like me, but I'm capable of being a crazymaker too..

What do you guys think about this;

Is it possible to intuitively know lots about a person when you first meet them?
