If someone comes into a hug with me with blank, habitual vibe, I have the power to generate transformation of that hug. I've never had anyone energetically
insist on having our hug be meaningless.
A cultural norm isn't necessarily a soulless gesture; it depends entirely on what you have the willingness and personal power to generate in an encounter.
(p.s.. I was exaggerating when I said "everyone" ... we don't stop
every single passerby and hug.
