Wanted to say hello and to give my feedback from the #1 conference.
Thought the group was the best part, brought in by the framework, "Personal Development for Smart People." That being said, the group would not have taken on a life of its own without the great preparation and delivery by Steve and Erin. Interestingly, I needed Erin's perspective to really connect since my profile is much more aligned with hers and her way of thinking and acting, than to Steve's. The relationship between them is a definite plus for the attendees and the message.
Saw a post by someone else that said the attendees weren't the usual group of "needy" people attending a self-help seminar. Thought that comment was off-track. The people were "needy" but the focus was on development. Similar to thinking of a sick person as healed while praying, rather than maintaining the sick image; I determined that focusing on the development aspect, while acknowledging the neediness instead of making neediness the central theme, produced a positively charged atmosphere.
I'm happy to have this forum to continue the connection since I could not immediately return home and begin practicing what I learned. Thought Las Vegas was a great venue. Can't imagine this seminar being successful in another city but don't know why I feel that way.
To Steve and Erin, keep up the good work. To Erin, please continue to participate.
