Thanks! It was pretty accidental - I didn't really go in to that TM speech thinking that I was going to talk myself into starting to meditate again.
Instead, because I was constrained for time, I just picked a topic that I knew a fair amount about already so that my research stage would be shorter. In any case, I'm very happy with the outcome and would recommend the technique to others as a way to publicly commit to changes.
Interestingly, the speech topic wasn't even specifically motivational, it was more historical and informational. I certainly never mentioned my latent personal interest to restart my practice within the speech itself.
