That was an awesome post Adrienne.

I've always thought that LoA was an interesting concept. However, you'd have to apply it in a practical way such as the way Adrienne outlined in order for it to be successful.

If your intent is to receive a million dollars, maybe it requires a shift in thinking. My principle is that if you're able to create some value then eventually someone will be able to make use of what you've created and then you'll be rewarded.

So if the intent is money, then you're going to need to create the sort of value that someone is willing to pay for. This is where I believe the practical application of LoA comes in.

Instead of asking for the money to appear in your life, which is quite vague and adds to the idea of miscommunication, direct what you're asking to how you can create value, or how you can make yourself valuable. The money will come as a result of you should becoming so valuable that people should be beating your door down demanding to give you money for your services.

What can be done in order to create value? What's been done so far works great. Maybe you have a great idea, if it somehow creates value to the world, think how it will help a potential customer, then figure out how to attach a price to this opportunity, use the LoA now to bring positives to your idea. Learn business fundamentals and you're on your way as part of the capitalist dream.

Or perhaps think of a more traditional approach, if you're able to go back to school and increase the amount of learning towards some field of study you'd enjoy, then you're steadily increasing the amount of value you can create, and then you'd be able to use the LoA to get a well paying job that you'd actually like working at. Invest in yourself.

What's been mentioned so far is also something to think about. Be grateful for what you have so far and work from there. If you're up to your ears in debt, then acknowledge that and create a plan to remove yourself from that debt-ridden situation. You won't be able to make any financial progress if you're going to be hindered by paying someone else a burdening amount of interest for the rest of your life. Use the LoA to make yourself valuable, in return you'll be rewarded, get rid of the debt immediately with your earnings, once you're in the clear, redouble your efforts until you're on the path to where you want to go.

Depending on what you want for yourself, what you ask and what is given to you, the million dollars could come to you fast or it could be a slow and steady trickling in.
