Default "Modern Day Nazis" - The first HORRIBLE post on StevePavlina.com

Do I even have to say it?

Steve's most recent post is coming from a position of anger and emotionality; not love or from a self-development attitude. A few things that make this obvious:

1) His entire post ASSUMES that everyone reading it is an ignorant, egg-eating bigot who enjoys torturing animals. It doesn't even consider that many readers are conscious, life-friendly human beings. Some of them are probably already vegan or non-egg-eaters as well.

2) He mentions at the end something about pushing people's buttons. Steve, are you aware that the whole post of yours was trying to guilt-trip people into not eating eggs? Trying to push other people's buttons in a NEGATIVE way only shows that you allowed the negative emotionality surrounding the chicks' mistreatment to get to you. It is obvious that it is YOUR buttons that have been pushed, Steve.

Quote:
Now you might think that if you eat free range eggs, then your conscience is clear. Nice try, but not even in the ballpark.
3) Are you TRYING to insult your readers with that sarcasm, Steve? It is easy enough to come from an accepting viewpoint and say something like "unfortunately, even free range eggs result in this same mistreatment." Your language "Nice try, but..." is obviously just trying to push your readers' buttons in a negative way once again.

4) The whole post was about inducing guilt and anger. None of it was focused on self-improvement, despite the cheap sparkle of "do a 30-day trial" that he poked in at the end.

Steve, maybe a 5th option at the end should have been "Realize that every animal's soul will live forever anyways, and that its current treatment is the result of its own level of consciousness. Once its own consciousness evolves, worldly circumstances will change so that it is no longer treated this way - just as human society becomes more peaceful as humans' consciousness evolves."

Along with all that, I recall a very clear statement from The Doc that says "All life evolves by serving higher life. The [Self of the] cow enjoys being slaughtered because it is serving its purpose." Remember also that our own Self will lead us to physical death if it results in spiritual growth - This is no different for animals.

Edit: All that said, you are free to become a vegan if you so choose
