I did it for 30 days, and in the end I was hallucinating about meat and hamburgers. I lost almost 5kg on fruit only - mostly muscle. In the end I was literally starving myself. I'd rather not eat anything than eat fruit, because the monotony of fruit was killing me.

Fruit is extremely high in fructose sugar. This will raise your insulin and make you more fat.

You could just eat sugar all day, no difference.
I disagree with your entire post, except the second paragraph which i cannot prove nor disprove.

You'll lose weight, yes. If you are hungry, you aren't eating enough. Eat more! Try to include as much variety as possible.

The natural sugars in fruits will not raise your insulin and make you more fat. That's ridiculous. Steve Pavlina's own raw food trial included carefully monitoring his blood sugar levels, and he NEVER had a spike in the entire month. Yes, he was eating vegetables as well, but honestly, you will not get fat from eating nothing but fruit.

If you are eating enough food, and still maintaining some level of activity (ie exercise, walking, whatever), you'll lose weight, and be/feel healthier.

Last week, I was down for the count with a very nasty sinus infection. I had no appetite at all, and had to force myself to eat so that I could take powerful antibiotics. The only food I could eat was raw fruits and veggies... nothing else would stay down.

After 3 days of that, I had the most amazing mental clarity, my digestive system seemed to be working great, with no gas or discomfort (which I just assumed was a regular thing for me), and I did manage to lose weight.

I know part of the weight loss was due to illness, and not much appetite, but considering I essentially lived on nectarines, bananas, and carrots, no one can tell me that the amount of NATURAL sugars I was eating was unhealthy.
