I find diet soda's to be dangerous, mostly because people think that ordering a diet soda will help with their weight problem. Years ago I remember working at McDonalds and seeing people order two double big mac meals...and then add they want a diet coke because they are watching their weight. I had to bite my tongue to not tell them that the diet coke they ordered was more unhealthy than the big macs they also ordered.

My philosophy is that if you are going to order soda, then unless you specifically like the taste of the diet versions, then you might as well get the regular sugar-filled version. I, myself used to be a big pepsi and Dr Pepper addict, sometimes consuming a 2 liter bottle in a day. Nowadays, I might order a coke if I go to McDonalds (that and of itself is a rarity), but for now if I want a fizz fix, I stick to Perrier mineral water. And if I want something sweet to drink, I'll pick up some pure fruit juice
