I would say the Yahoo Directory is NOT worth the $300.
However, one "glitch in the system" that I have heard of, is that the Yahoo Directory supposedly has Canadian and other-country branches of its directory to which you can submit your site
for free. These other-country branches are supposedly just as good, and hey: they couldn't hurt either way if you aren't paying for them
