I find that I recall audio if I "detach" my mind from my body - my body might be running or peeling potatoes but my mind is solely focused on what I am hearing.
Also, it helps me if I pause the audio every 10 minutes or so and spend 30 seconds recalling and summarizing what I've just heard. I do this in my head if in a public room but actually, it helps better if I do it out loud lol
