Closest I can think is a woman.

She was 19 years old then and wanted to be a professional dancer. She thought New York would be the place to go.

So she quit college and went to New York on her own, despite having little money and knowing no one in New York. She had to live in a dump and earn money as a waitress at Dunkin Donuts.

Her words, on the move to New York:
