If I can recommend the works of Eckhart Tolle...they have been the best out of all I've tried.
Two books, the Power of NOW, and A New Earth. They both point to the same thing, but have different ways of teaching. He said it himself, and I was one of those people - different ways of teaching work for different people - I read the Power Of NOW, thought it was great, but nothing really happened for me. Then I read A New Earth, and things started happening - I have much more control over my thoughts and my emotions, and that's just the start! Others get more benefit out of PON then NE.
