I've always been very skinny and so I looked into possible reasons why. This is the first article that includes all the metabolic effects that I discovered. I often joke that my digestive system works so quickly that I can eat heaps and not put on weight because a lot of the calories are burnt up in getting those calories out of the food quickly

It was interesting to discover that there's a kernel of truth in that

The same goes for NEAT. I fidget constantly. I probably burn more calories while seated than some people do standing up and moving around

Practicing static yoga and kung fu stances while doing the dishes or on the computer also helps. But a vertical desk would be fantastic.
