Never jaywalk in Vegas though. Pedestrians do get hit by cars (often driven by drunk people) more often than average. I make a habit of not standing too close to the curb while waiting for the light to change. You don't want to lose a foot or toe when someone miscalculates their turn.
If you're watching a show outside like Treasure Island Sirens (hot chicks and hot guys!) or the Bellagio fountain or the Mirage Volcano keep a hand on your purse or wallet as sometimes pick pockets go through the crowd since everyone is jostling and distracted by the show.
Other than that Vegas is very safe. The security guards are highly trained and ready to do battle, very vigilant, and there are cameras everywhere.
You can see a show in the evening. So many to choose from. Most start at 7pm or 10pm. Since you'll be getting out at 5pm each day you'll have time to grab some dinner and get to a show pretty easily.
