It is also a library book. But the email belongs to a friend of mine - who lives 2 towns over, and happens to play in the same 15 person community band I do - cooinidence? Maybe...but how many people read The Secret Life of Plants?

Anyways....alot of experiements have been done over the years involving music and plants (and animals). Basically, in a nutshell, Classical Music causes rapid growth, cucumber vines actually twining around the speakers playing Bach or Vivaldi, and ..... sorry to say....Rock kills. Plants don't like Led Zeppelin. Mice have even killed each other exposed to heavy rock over a period of time. Fascinating book - highly reccomended. Of course many people will read it and say "yeah - whatever" but considering what we're all involved in here on this board - some of you may enjoy it. There's a whole chapter on Plants and Music.

Bottom line- start enjoying classical music. Let's see - I took Music Appreciation in high school....that was 1976? 77?
I like classical, but also like a lot of upbeat pop - Hindi music (believe it or not!) in particular has a lot of postive stuff in it (when you read the translations)
For a nice combo -Gilbert and Sullivan - very upbeat, and it will increase your vocabulary because Gilbert was a master rhymer.
