I've been living in Japan for the better part of 6 years now, and it's pretty damn sweet. I'm not a huge fan of Tokyo - prefer Yokohama or Osaka - but there's certainly plenty of ways to spend money there.

My only complaint about most of Japan is the weather. Japanese people love to brag about their four seasons (as if every place on the planet didn't have four?), but one of those is rainy, and another one is miserably hot and humid. Fall and Winter can be nice though.

If I had to pick anywhere in Japan to call "ideal," it would definitely have to be Okinawa.
