The other day I delivered some local concert schedules to a guy who runs a yogurt store, and when I told him what they were he laughed and laughed! Steven K Amos, a standup comedian did a bit where he said "find the funnies". What angela said at the top is pretty much the gist of it. Train yourself to look at things and think what's funny about that? There's usually something funny about almost everything, work hard to notice them and the more obviously funny things will become, well, more obvious.
After you've developed your sense of humor, work on selling it. Even if you find the funniest things in the world to talk about, if you can't talk about your ideas clearly and confidently, people wont find them funny.
Retrospectively, the second point should be the first point
