Your idea of love is very much aligned with the person who you maligned with your crack comment. You're operating as though love is a commodity, that you're giving something and that person should give it to you ("love you back"). What kind of friendship is that? A friendship based on trying to "get" something is one where there's no freedom at all, for either of you. If you "get" love, you'll constantly be worried about "keeping" or "losing" it, and you'll both live with the restrictions and insecurities that live in that world. How different would it be for that person if you were generating love and freedom for him (her) rather than trying to squeeze it out of him like toothpaste? How different would be the experience of love for you if you allowed relationship to flower naturally out of love and freedom?
Try generating love for the guy(girl) and other people as well, while surrendering the idea of getting, or being owed, anything. Leave yourself open to unlimited relationship with people. Practice on ticktockclok, who didn't deserve the 'crack' crack.
