The child is a reflection of you. You don't have to adjust it's thinking you have to adjust yours. When the abused child comes into your awareness, what is your internal experience of that moment? There is something there for you to see but it is covered by your judgment of the moment as being wrong.

Underneath that wrongness, there is more to see.
