The reason it never comes through 'hard work' is because if you are working through your purpose towards goals you truly desire. The work is not hard in the slightest.

Perhaps it would be better to say you need to take action, but not to work hard.

As an example I have recently gotten on purpose in my life and I am, technically, working far harder than I can ever remember, except for maybe when I was in the army. I sleep only a few hours a night. I have trimmed my social life back to one or two nights a week maximum. I work all weekend. etc.

However, I find it amusing when people tell me not to overwork myself, because I am loving every minute of it. It's like I am just playing, not working. I feel more energised, alive and am enjoying life more now, than any time in the past when I took it easy and had lots of 'free time' to kill.

If something feels like hard work to you, then you are doing the wrong thing, is basically what they are saying.
