My childhood friend's sister had bulimia/anorexia when we were all teenagers, and the problems followed her into her adult life. She died last winter, unexpectedly in her sleep, believed due to organ failure from the lifetime of eating disorder and associated malnutrition. She was all of about 40. She was an amazing woman who left behind important unfinished work and grieving family & friends.
