I used to play American football in the UK (that's right, we have a league!) and I replaced almost all my fat with good lean muscle in a couple of months on this diet with a couple of modifications. I took 3 protein shakes a day and necked a powerful creatine ethyl ester shake before every workout. My bench went from 50kg (112.5lbs) to 90kg (around 200lb) in the same amount of time and I went from being slightly too small for my pads to convincingly filling them. I could also
knock wide receivers and running backs flying too

Looking over those pics makes me a little nostalgic, I hope my broken leg heals its self so I can go back to banging heads next season!
