I second RandomJohn's comments. Writing down your dreams is the first step to improved dream recall. If you like 30 day trials, maybe you could try this as one of them. You can also use a tape recorder, then transcribe later--this is a great method if you want to quickly go back into dreaming without fully waking up.
I've gotten so habituated to recording my dreams that when I start writing while I'm dreaming, it cues me to the fact that I'm asleep. So far, my response to this particular cue has been to wake up!

But there are far better ways to react when you realize you're in a dream....as we know.
